Thread & Flourish, llc is a style-conscious online boutique for ethically minded shoppers who want to look their best. We support fairly traded, handmade products, healthy lifestyles, mindfulness, and green living. Our motto is "Love the world. Love yourself."
What is FlourishBox?
FlourishBox is our bi-monthly box subscription meant to surprise and delight our subscribers with a fairly traded, handcrafted scarf plus two other fair trade surprises every other month. Most of our scarves are custom designed and created specifically for FlourishBox, so rest assured you are getting something special. Scarves are shipped out in January, March, May, July, September and November.
Can I choose which scarf I get?
You can let us know what color family you prefer, but cannot chose a specific item. FlourishBox is a surprise subscription and designed to surprise and delight our subscribers with fairly traded and custom designed scarves. When you sign up for FlourishBox, you'll see a preferences section where you can select whether you prefer warm, cool, and/or neutral scarves, but you cannot select a specific scarf or "trade" your scarf after receipt as each scarf was custom made specifically for FlourishBox. Fabrics are all predetermined. See below for more information on fabrics. If you would like to update your preferences, email us at email@example.com.
What fabric will my scarf be?
Our scarves will always be 100% silk, silk/cotton, or 100% wool (cooler months only).
Can I customize the FlourishBox "extras"?
We love to surprise our customers with fairly traded, handmade and ethical items. At this time, all monthly FlourishBoxes will contain the same extra items, and cannot be customized. These could be ethically sourced jewelry, candles, soap, healthy snacks or something similar. Note that all of our jewelry is nickel-free.
How does it work?
First, you select how often you want your subscription auto-renewed. Then, you select whether you like to wear cool, warm, or neutral colors (or all of them!). After that, we curate a high quality, handmade scarf for you. You get to wear your scarf, look lovely on the outside, and feel great knowing that your scarf was made using ethical practices from artisans around the world.
What size will my scarf be?
We want you to have fun wearing your scarf, and give you at least 70-inches in length to work with.
Is Thread & Flourish Fair Trade certified?
At this time, Thread & Flourish is not Fair Trade certified. Through our research, we have found a number of international and ethical suppliers who are not certified, but uphold to the standards of Fair Trade. We want to be able to keep our company open and available to as many suppliers as possible in order for us to find the best quality and price for your scarves.
What is "Fair Trade" anyway?
Per Wikipedia: "Fair trade is an organized social movement whose stated goal is to help producers in developing countries achieve better trading conditions and to promote sustainability. Members of the movement advocate the payment of higher prices to exporters, as well as higher social and environmental standards. The movement focuses in particular on commodities, or products which are typically exported from developing countries to developed countries, but also consumed in domestic markets (e.g. Brazil and India) most notably handicrafts, coffee, cocoa, sugar, tea, bananas, honey, cotton, wine, fresh fruit, chocolate, flowers, gold and 3D printer filament. The movement seeks to promote greater equity in international trading partnerships through dialogue, transparency, and respect. It promotes sustainable development by offering better trading conditions to, and securing the rights of, marginalized producers and workers in developing countries."
When will I receive my FlourishBox?
FlourishBox is shipped between the 20th and the 25th of the following months: January, March, May, July, September and November.
When will I be billed?
That depends on which auto-renewal option you chose, and when you sign up.
If you sign up for Every Other Month Renewal:
The card you put on file with us will be billed the last day of every other month, beginning the month you sign up. (one scarf per renewal)
If you sign up for Every Four Months Renewal:
The card you put on file with us will be billed the last day of every four months, beginning the month you sign up. (two scarves per renewal)
Can I purchase a subscription as a gift?
Absolutely! Just select "Give A Gift" button. If you'd like your gift recipient to select their subscription, you can also select a gift card from our Shop.
What can I expect in my FlourishBox?
Every other month of the year you can expect to receive a high quality handmade and/or fair trade scarf plus two ethically created surprise treats. Our scarves are handcrafted using fabrics such as cotton voile, wool, silk, pashmina, and viscose. The two other items included in your box could be items such as jewelry, snacks, or decor.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. Cancel at any time! If you are having problems with your subscription, please feel free to email us for assistance.
What is your return policy?
FlourishBox subscription boxes are NOT eligible for returns, exchanges, or refunds once shipped.
Please note, that three or six month subscriptions will not be refunded or partially refunded once any of the prepaid boxes are shipped.
In the event that your box is returned to our warehouse because of an incorrect or invalid mailing address due to your error, then we can either
Note: Refunds can take 5-10 days to show up on your statement depending on how quickly your bank and/or credit card company processes it.
If you happen to find that a product has been damaged during shipping or in the rare case that a product is missing altogether, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org and sending clear photos of the damaged item(s), the packaging, and the shipping label. Photos must clearly indicate the identity of the product and should not include any unrelated products in the background as this can be misleading and confusing.
Due to our highly fluctuating inventory, the email and photo(s) must be sent within seven (7) days of receiving your shipment. Validity of the damaged or missing item(s) will be determined at the discretion of the support team. We cannot guarantee that we will have that specific item(s) in stock, but we will try our best to make it up to you! Any replacement products will be shipped with your next month's box.
